Actress Taylour Paige started out as a ballet dancer and model, so it’s not surprising that now, websites like Who What Wear interviewed her and have built photo shoots around her. Since landing her lead role in the film “Zola” and winning an Independent Spirit Award for it, heavy hitters like “W” and “Pop” have featured her in their pages.
Fashion-Minded and Not
A quick glance at her Getty Images page shows the young star’s versatility and ability to create a look. Paige quickly points out in interviews that at home, she dresses down, practicing self-care. In her Zoom interview with Who What Wear, she wore a vintage silk robe and headscarf. She faced her interviewer with no makeup on, preferring her self-described laid-back look. During the interview, she gushes over the clothes she modeled in the photo shoot, especially a Mugler dress. She said, “That feels like, ‘Yes, she’s arrived.’”
Dance Beginnings, Modeling Career
Although Paige studied dance, modeling helped pay the bills while she attended Loyola Marymount University. During junior high school through college, she studied dance with choreographer/actress Debbie Allen, best known for the “Fame” television series. While studying dance, she kept busy filming advertisements for McDonald’s, Best Buy, and TransAmerica, and shooting print ads for companies including Adidas.
Acting Takes Over
Once she graduated college, Paige launched her acting career, landing a starring role on the TV series, “Hit the Floor.” From 2013 to 2016, she appeared in 33 episodes of the show, playing cheerleader Ahsha Hayes. During that time, she also landed her first acting roles in feature films and guest-starred on other TV shows, such as “Ballers.” All of her acting jobs landed her on the red carpet, which fashion had prepared her well.
Looking Good from Any Angle
Getty Images carries more than 1,000 photos of the actress. Her favorite red carpet looks tend toward basic black or cream and monochromatic green ensembles. Her fashion sense exudes a quiet glamour. Paige chooses natural makeup looks that seemingly take no time to put together. Photos of her walking the runway see her featured in bold prints, typically in red, orange, or periwinkle blue. It’s a contrast to her elevated, laid-back choices, but her acting talent helps her carry them off with ease. Wherever you spot the model, actress, and dancer, rest assured that Ms. Paige will look smashing from any angle.
